This programme provides holistic, home-based care and after-school activities to orphans and vulnerable children and families affected by HIV/AIDS.
25 caregivers from the community received 69 days intensive training thanks to WJR.
43 children are receiving comprehensive care through this grant, 11 of them HIV positive.
Caregivers are providing supervision in the home, palliative care where required, renovations to the homes, nutritious meals, formal or informal education and psycho-social support.
12 of the children being helped have been able to return to school and 17 have been enrolled in nursery school.
Our support lets the children know they are loved and cared for by their own communities as well as those from outside.
They learn about HIV prevention and how to take control of their own futures.
