KEY FACTS

HRH The Prince of Wales is Patron of this project.

The centre, to serve some 1000 people, will become the hub for the whole community

A Senior Club is also in operation

As part of an exciting Jewish renaissance in Poland, WJR opened a jewish Community Centre in Krakow in April 2008.

The centre, which was opened by TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, provides a range of services to the entire Krakow Jewish Community.

The centre will meet the needs of the Krakow Jewish Community all year round.

Services include:

The Children's Space - including a Sunday school, as well as workshops, holiday celebrations and social events for children from Krakow and other communities.

The Student Club - for student's attending Krakow's Jagiellonian University. The student club provices a space for them to interact.

Adult Outreach - 40 years of communism served to push much of already decimated community underground. The centre hopes to encourage those who have not yet explored their Jewish backgrounds to use the centre's facilities, to participate in discussion groups and to reinvigorate the community.

The Senior Club is an established part of the Jewish community. Elderly people visit throughout the week to socialise and learn English and Hebrew with native speakers.

The Library - is being assembled from an existing collection held by the Student Association, Czulent and from several important private collections donated by members of the community.
