The Ariel Job Centre helps Jews from professional backgrounds, who have lost their jobs and livelihoods in the economic crisis, to regain economic self-sufficiency.
They are given help to develop skills in new areas and to learn English. Comprehensive advice on job applications and interviews are given and funds and support to start up their own businesses are also offered.
In the six years since it was established, the Centre has been an overwhelming success: 13,304 individuals have participated in job retraining courses, 5,624 have secured jobs and 1,337 businesses employing 4,649 people have been created or upgraded. 312 loans for business development have also been approved.
Although the impact of the economic breakdown is declining, there is still a need to consolidate and strengthen the position of those many professionals re-entering the labour market.
