KEY FACTS

SACCA cares for some 117 children aged 10-21

SACCA provides homes and assistance for former and current street-living and working children in Kayonza, Rwamagana and Kabarondo, Rwanda.

The project focuses on providing physical, emotional, educational and vocational support to former street children, vulnerable girls and single mothers. The WJR grant funds running costs for the five centres, education, income generating projects, social work and reintergration, pastoral support for the CBPS (Community Based Prevention of Separation) programme, and a donation towards central office and salary expenses.

The centres support the children and motivate them to abandon street life and take up employment or education.

Currently there are 117 children in five centres and a further 35 children are helped as part of the integration and reintergration programme. It is anticipated that a further 200 children will receive assistance from the programme over the next 12 months and more than 50 children will benefit from the CBPS projects already running.
