Already left with a deep sense of insecurity as a result of years of war, many Jews in Serbia must also contend with daily uncertainty about feeding themselves and their families as food prices rocket.
Six $45 vouchers are distributed to the most impoverished in nine different areas throughout the country, or, when access to shops is impossible, they receive meals on wheels.
Those who are more physically able can attend Kosher soup kitchens. Community support is an integral component of this programme. The programme aims to ensure that no Jew in Serbia goes hungry.
